ABOUT US

History

The Ukrainian Association for Management Development and Business Education was established as a result of the project “Business Management Education in Ukraine”, which was implemented under the auspices of the University of Minnesota with the support of USAID.

The decision to establish the Association was made on July 11, 2002, at a meeting of the Constituent Congress, which representatives of 36 Universities and Business schools from all parts of Ukraine attended.

External funding was stopped in 2006, and since 2007 the Association has gained financial stability and independence, which has made it possible to overcome the crisis of 2014-2015 successfully.

UAMDBE has supported the UN Global Compact since 2009.

Over the years of work, we improved the skills and professionalism of university lecturers. We organized  2 Winter and 8 Summer Institutes of teaching methods and pedagogical skills, dozens of scientific conferences, hundreds of seminars, round tables, workshops for thousands of University lecturers and administrators from all over Ukraine.

Since 2012, the annual All-Ukrainian Competition of student teams LoNG (Look of New Generation) has been implemented in cooperation with E&Y, Amrita, Amway, Agrotechsoyuz, Dubnomoloko, Dairy Alliance; Energoatom, DTEK, Alfa Bank, KERNEL, Nova Poshta, the Union of Small, Medium and Privatized Enterprises of Ukraine, Blockchain Ukraine Association with the support of the UN Global Compact Network in Ukraine.

In 2009-2010, the project of the Renaissance Foundation “Public Legislative Initiative for the Modernization and Democratization of the Education-Labor Relations System” was implemented. As a result of the work, proposals to the Law on Higher Education were collected, discussed, and submitted to the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine and to the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Science and Education. Certain proposals have been considered and included in this law.

The project “Incorporating Corporate Social Responsibility into Ukrainian Universities” under UNDP support was implemented in 2010-2013. As a result of the project’s activity and further development:

The logical continuation of the project was a set of measures to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals.

In 2019-2020, the project “Modular program of professional development “International Financial Reporting Standards: content and practical application” for university lecturers from EY specialists was implemented based on EY. This project is a good model of interaction between business and universities, an example of mutually beneficial relationships between different actors in the community.

The project is devoted to issues of the digital culture of participants in the educational process, the effects of trust in mixed and distance learning, and the implementation of various interactive methods in the student’s academic trajectory.
